Applecart will be at the Renegade Craft Fair once again this year. Please come drop by and check out the great new styles for Summer 2009. The Renegade Craft Fair is June 6th AND 7th from 11am - 7pm at Brooklyn's McCarren Park. Don't know where that is? Well, check out this little thing called "Google Maps".

Highlights of Artists & Fleas

Thanks to everyone who came to check out applecart at Artists & Fleas in Williamsburg. Gotta give a shout out to my #1 applecart hustler, Miss Caitlin Roy, who also graced the people of Williamsburg with her original artwork and brand new t-shirt designs.

Here's a nice shot of the "product mix". Not a lot of people know this, but I did in fact graduate from the Cecilia Grimm School of Visual Merchandising.

Applecart at Artist & Fleas this Sunday

One day only! Sunday, April 26th from 12 - 8pm at 129 N 6th Street, between Bedford Ave and Berry.

This weekend, applecart will be at Artists & Fleas in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Please come visit and maybe even buy something from me! I'll be sitting and/or standing at a table with my trusty applecart side-kick, Caitlin Roy - who will also be selling some original artwork too. Feel free to bring us an iced, caffeinated beverage of some sort (I'm a big fan of the Dirty Chai, myself). You don't want to miss this!

Stanley Jr is Coming

One of the new designs I have been working on is the "Stanley Jr". People have always asked me about making a bag that goes across the shoulders, so I am trying it out.

Stanley Jr is a based on my "Stanley" tote bag, except it is smaller and only has one diagonal zipper pocket. The strap is adjustable so you can wear it as high or low as you need to. There is also a pocket inside the bag, if you have more secrets to hide.

There are only a few made so far, but you can find them over at Flirt in Brooklyn.

Hey Applecart Nation! Thanks for all your support and interest during this holiday season. I really appreciate everybody who came out and purchased stuff. It makes a girl feel pretty okay. So thanks and I think you are cool.

Caitlin Goes to the Prom

I was recently asked to make a prom dress for my friend Caitlin for her Roller Derby Prom. The stipulations were that it must be turquoise or teal and there needed to be a cloud with lighting bolts somewhere on the dress.

Of course, I didn't start working on it until 3 days before the event, but nevertheless, here is what I came up with. It actually was pretty simple. I really like the "cupcake" skirt which I made by gathering the bottom and attaching it to a fitted lining underneath. I always get frustrated when I have to do finishing touches like hemming, so it was really rewarding to just attach the lining to the skirt and have it be done.

But no outfit is complete until you got the perfect hairdo to complement it. Our dear friend, Katie, did a fabulous beehive for the occasion and Ta-Da! the ensemble is complete.

1929 Pillow

I recently made this "1929" Stock Market Crash Pillow for a friend's house warming gift. I appliquéd the design to the front of the pillow and cut everything out free hand. And to make it extra fancy, I added a sweet ruffle all the way around the edge. Its pretty wacky and most of the people I showed it to had no idea what it was about.
